Amsterdam

Whilst in Amsterdam I learned 2 things:

1. a city can be consistently beautiful no matter how far you walk
2. the dutch language would be worth learning

I was always curious about the ‘hype’ that encompassed Amsterdam. So often I would see people posting about how beautiful and genuinely wonderful the atmosphere of the place is. And so I flew in with high expectations.. and they were surpassed. Immediately I fell in love with how innovative and bike friendly the layout of the city is. There was a day when we wanted to test the practicality of the cycling, and to my surprise it was a great success, considering also that I am in no way a great cyclist. Getting around the city was simple, and the cuisine options diverse. Luckily, the weather was beautiful for the 3 days I was there. The moment the plane touched back down in Dublin I had the urge to return to the Netherlands.
Next time I hope to explore some Dutch boutiques and to find more cafes, as the one we found on Sunday morning was very tasty. I want to go out to the craziest clubs I can find (we ventured to one that was quite small but still eventful), draw the people/architecture around me, and sit down at a coffeeshop for a couple hours rather than just pop in for only a moment.
I loved the hooks that mounted each building.
I loved the ringing of bike bells.
I loved the french fries.
I loved Amsterdam.
